Jason C. Fries, CEO

JASON

Jason has over 23 years of experience in the field of forensic analysis and testifies regularly as an expert in Forensic Animation, 3D Laser Scanning, Nighttime Visibility, Line of Sight, Ballistic Trajectory, Video Analysis, and OIS Reconstruction. He holds science degrees and is a member of several scientific organizations. In his spare time, Jason enjoys playing basketball and racing his cars at the local racetracks.

Steve Swehla, Director of Production

Steve Swehla head shot

Steve is the head of the 3D production department and comes to 3DF with a BA in 3D Computer Modeling and Animation. He has spent his career taking his creative storytelling and combining it with his love of forensic analysis to become a leader in the field of Forensic Animation. His attention to detail has allowed him to move up the ranks over the last 4 years. His free-time is filled with his love of drone racing, kite surfing, and working on his motorcycle.

Preston Phillips, Senior Forensic Animator

Preston is our Senior Forensic Animator and Video Specialist. His formal education is a BA in computer animation and is our go-to video analysis guru. His ability to take on difficult forensic tasks and not stop until it is completed has made him one of our best team players. Preston’s ability to find the right tool for the job has made him a hero to his co-workers. When not researching the latest technological tool, Preston enjoys playing video games and hiking the outdoors.

Alex Ballo, Forensic Animator, Los Angeles Division

Alex is our Los Angeles Senior Forensic Animator and Video Specialist. His formal education is based on scientific research and before coming to 3DF he was a researcher at a university in Florida. Alex’s passion for science and computer animation made him a perfect fit for our team. His ability to digest 100’s of pages of police, reconstruction, or medical examiner reports and create accurate, concise reports makes sure all team members are on the same page. In his free time, Alex enjoys working out and enjoys the perfect LA weather.

Nick Crane, Head of Interactive Design

Nick is a leading expert in the field of forensic Unreal programming and design. His ability to create fully-functional interactive forensic environments allows 3D Forensic to offer unparalleled access to the most advanced tools in interactive presentations. Nick takes immense pride in his ability to match an exacting standard for any case he contributes to, making him a natural fit in the forensic community. In his free time, he enjoys moving very hefty weights from one side of the gym to the other and then back again and destroying helpless pieces of wood with his karate skills.

Cosima Broglio

Cosima's professionalism and positive attitude have made her an essential part of the success we maintain at 3D Forensic. Her ability to keep the back end of the company runs smoothly is a crucial part why the rest of 3D Forensic can focus on our mission to provide the best, most accurate product possible for our clients. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting with her family and spending as much time outdoors as her schedule will allow.

Lauren McRandall, Executive Assistant

Lauren is the embodiment of a team player. She ensures your emails get answered, your deadlines met, and that nothing will fall through the cracks. If you ever need to get ahold of anyone at 3D Forensic, Lauren will make sure you get the attention you need. In her spare time, she coaches youth hockey and enjoys rooting for the Minnesota Wild on TV.
